FAQs

Therapy sessions are about 60 minutes long. As far as how long you might be in therapy, it depends on each person (I know, not a great answer). But it truly depends on what you want to work on; some people continue therapy for a few months, while some continue for years.
In sessions, we will talk about when it would be time for you to stop therapy and continually check in throughout the therapy process. But even if I recommend continuing or stopping, you decide when you want to stop sessions (unless I truly believe it is not in your best interest). You are in control of your therapy.

If you don’t like me, that is completely fine! We are not meant for every person and that’s okay! The therapeutic relationship and connection is an extremely important one, so if you’re not feeling it then please let me know! Once you do, we can talk about options like ending sessions and/or me referring you to other therapists.
Therapy is a space for you and I want to make sure you feel safe and comfortable to share, discuss, and process, even if that’s not with me.
-
Before your first session, please make sure to fill out all paperwork sent to you. Other than that, just bring yourself! You are welcome to wear whatever you feel most comfortable in.
In the first session, we will mostly be getting to know each other, talking about what brings you into therapy, and talking about the next steps and what therapy will look like moving forward. I will also answer any questions you have about therapy with me, the therapy process, and anything else you may be wondering.

Your first 15 minute consultation is free. Every other session, whether we meet in person or virtually, will be $120 if you are self-pay.
Payment will be taken through your client portal on Simple Practice via credit/debit card. If you are unable to pay with a card, please reach out to me and we can discuss options.
If you feel like we would be a good fit for therapy but are unable to pay my regular rate, please reach out to me. I have limited sliding scale spots, which means I am willing to work with you to provide therapy at a reduced rate. If you feel like you would benefit from this, please let me know so that we can discuss. I cannot guarantee that I will be able to offer you a reduced rate, but I am willing to have a conversation with you about it and can offer resources or referrals so that you can receive the care you deserve.

Anyone at any age can start therapy! There is no minimum or maximum age or exactly right time to start therapy.
-
While you are welcome to talk about any subject in your sessions including important people in your life, you cannot bring a friend into your therapy session.
The only exception is for parents of minors or if we have discussed and come to an agreement beforehand.
-
Yes, as a parent you are able to come to your child’s sessions especially if you have any concerns or questions. However, I do ask that parents recognize that the therapy space is for their child, so majority of the sessions will most likely be just with your child alone.

I do not prescribe medicine; that would need to be prescribed by a doctor or psychiatrist.
I can help you find and provide you with referrals though.

I do not have any Covid-19 restrictions, however, if you do feel sick I ask that you not come in and please let me know as soon as possible.
I will do my best to accommodate if I can whether that means rescheduling or doing the session virtually.
